Finnforel has been sustainably and environmentally friendly farming domestic rainbow trout in a recirculating aquaculture system in Varkaus since 2017. Finnforel employs the most advanced and environmentally friendly solution for fish farming on dry land. The fish are sold under the brand name Saimaan Tuore in leading retail stores. The growth conditions for rainbow trout are consistent, and seasonal variations do not affect the availability, quality, or price of the fish. Fish can be delivered from Finnforel’s farming facility to cities around the world, with most cities receiving them the next morning.
